I love the lighting and shading in this piece. You've done an excellent job - especially on the hair and face.

I feel you've presented her sadness quite well. As was mentioned before, the color scheme and lighting may not be the most appropriate to convey the mood. However, the lighting makes for a nice effect, and the girl's face gets the message across. The composition is nice, but I think it may be more powerful if not centered (think rule-of-thirds here).

The theme is not very original, but I do like your execution of it. You have a nice character design. I do find the lens flare a bit distracting. In my opinion this is an overused effect. It doesn't seem to add anything.

As I mentioned earlier, I love your shading. The hair is very well done, as is her clothing. I especially like her eyes. There were a couple anatomy concerns mentioned earlier. I won't go into them since they've already been mentioned, but I do agree with the other two critics.

Overall this is very well done.
